Getting Started Tips
Our curated list of helpful tips as you get started in the canvas.
If you select a group of cells and hit Command/Control + Shift + L, then Count will auto-layout your cells for you - making your DAG look as readable as possible.
You can drag and drop almost anything from the data bar into the canvas, giving you quick access to table (and cell) previews, column metadata, and even schema information.
If you write or import a query that uses any CTEs, you can explode the CTEs into connected DAG of cells. This makes your hard-to-read query instantly easy to understand. Helpful for other readers, and for your future self 😉.
There's an extensive set of keyboard shortcuts available in the canvas. You can see the full list here:
In the template menu, you'll find a Colors section that contains some pre-made color schemes. Importing these makes those colors available to all objects in your canvas. It's an easy way to add color to your canvas, without having to worry about making sure they all "work" together.
If you want to quickly add viewers to your canvas, you can whitelist your company's email address, so you don't have to explicitly invite everyone you want to share a canvas with.
