3. Create visuals

As you start exploring your data, you may want to use visuals to help.

There are few ways to visualize your data in Count, depending on what you need:

  1. For fast, column-level visuals - use the data bar

  2. For exploring relationships quickly - use the template tab of the design bar

  3. For fully custom visuals - use the custom tab of the design bar

1. For fast, column-level visuals - use the data bar

If you want to:

  • see the distribution of a column

  • remind yourself which dates your dataset contains

  • or see the most common values in a column

you can drag in column-level visuals from the data menu.

2. For exploring relationships quickly - use the template tab of the design bar

Templates are great for quick exploration and simple charts.

There are a limited number of fields to populate, depending on the template type selected, making it super easy to build quickly.

View the available templates by clicking on the template icon:

3. For fully custom visuals - use the custom tab of the design bar

When you want full control over your visuals, use the Custom option. Here you can control nearly every pixel of your visuals, including:

  • The type of chart

  • The number of marks and subplots

  • Axis formatting

  • Colors and styles

  • Data labels

  • Pivoting

Calculated fields

For any cell type that uses drag and drop fields (visuals and low code cells) you can make use of calculated fields.
