Adding content

Add content to the canvas using the controls in the menu at the bottom of the canvas window. Controls with an arrow include a pop up menu with additional options.

Cursors

Move (M): Allows selection of objects by clicking on them or creating a selection by dragging.

Scale (K): Allows scaling of objects while keeping their contents in proportion. This is especially useful for text boxes and charts to scale their contents and not just their size.

Cells

SQL cell (/): Inserts a cell for executing SQL queries.

Python cell (Y): Inserts a cell for executing Python queries.

Visuals

Visual cell (V) Inserts a visual cell and opens the visual editor.

Controls

Date picker: Inserts an input cell where viewers can select a date using a calendar widget.

Multiple select: Inserts an input cell where viewers can select multiple values from a column.

Single select: Inserts an input cell where viewers can select a single value from a column.

Number input: Inserts an input cell where viewers can enter a number.

Text input: Inserts an input cell where viewers can enter a string.

Slider input: Inserts a slider cell where viewers can use the slider to select a value.

Toggle input: Inserts a toggle cells where viewers can switch it on or off.

Table filter: Inserts a table cell where viewers can select to filter a table.

Annotation

Sticky (S): Insert a sticky note.

Text (T): Inserts a markdown-enabled text box.

Shapes

Rectangle (R): Create a rectangle.

Ellipse (O): Create an ellipse.

Line (L): Draw a straight line.

Connector (Shift + L): Draw a smart connector line. Optionally snap each end point to another object.

Pencil (P): Draw a freehand line.

Media

Image: Upload images up to 10MB in size. Supported file formats are: gif, jpeg, png, svg and webp. Images can also be dragged onto the canvas from your file explorer.

Some of these buttons may not be visible depending on your canvas .

Frame (F): Create a frame. contain other objects for organization and display purposes.

Embed link: third-party web content into the canvas.

Stamp (U): Insert an emoji . Optionally add the stamp to another object.

Hand (H): Allows panning of the canvas by clicking and dragging. You can also access this mode by .

Comment (C): Place a comment and open the . Optionally attach the comment to an object.
